Fatih, the "first Istanbul", is a municipality on on the European side of Istanbul. It constitutes the heart of the city, and coincides largely with the historical Constantinople. Today it has a conservative reputation, with some areas ihabited by Gypsies.

Der Bahnhof Istanbul Sirkeci (türkisch Sirkeci garı) ist ein Bahnhof der Türkischen Staatsbahn (TCDD) in Sirkeci, einem Stadtviertel im europäischen Teil Istanbuls (Türkei). Internationale, inländische und regionale Züge verkehren westwärts ab diesem Bahnhof. Dieser Kopfbahnhof gelangte vor allem als Endstation des Orient-Express' zu Berühmtheit.
Den Namen Orient-Express trugen mehrere Eisenbahnverbindungen zwischen Westeuropa und dem Balkan. In der Zeit bis zum Zweiten Weltkrieg handelte es sich um einen Luxuszug der Compagnie Internationale des Wagons-Lits (CIWL), der Paris und Konstantinopel beziehungsweise Istanbul verband. Bekannt ist der Orient-Express vor allem durch Agatha Christies Roman Mord im Orient-Express, der ihr zu Weltruhm verhalf.
